Practice Test for CWI Part C D1.1 now available
Hey what's going on future CWI's!
Hope everyone's out there staying safe! I just wanted to drop by and announce that I have just released a new Practice Test for Part C, but pertaining to the D1.1 2020 Ed. I had a lot of conversations with clients that have just tested off this exam and they shared their experience on what was on the test. So, I put these questions together based on that information.
AWS will not incorporate the newly released 2025 D1.1 Codebook for the CWI exam anytime soon, so no need to worry on that quite yet.
I will also be adding this as a "Full CWI Starter Package" for those going the D1.1 route.
Good luck Future CWI's! Keep on studying!

New Modern CWI Study Material
Hey Future CWIs, what's going on!
I've been out of town for the past two weeks, so I apologize for the delay in responding to emails. I’ve received quite a few requests for new video content, and I’ll be adding those topics to my to-do list.
Right now, I’m wrapping up a new video on Part 2, focusing on WPS and PQR questions — it should be out within the next week. As you know, editing takes time, especially since my videos use unique 3D replicas and inspection tools to deliver high-quality content. I appreciate your patience!
Also, I’ve updated and modernized the practice tests for Parts A, B, and C. I added new questions and reworded others to better reflect AWS’s exam style — a bit trickier, just like the real thing. If you purchased a test between March 1, 2025, and April 10, 2025, I’ve already sent out…

Aws seminar?
I'm taking a 1 week aws seminar the beginning of june.. how do you guys rate those seminars.. I have been welding for almost 22 years I feel pretty knowledgeable especially for the part A.. I feel confident for part B also arc of war had been a huge help but I'm worried about part C and trying to properly tab my book. I don't want to over tab it but I also want to have enough where I don't have to search to hard for answers.. any advice would be appreciated.. thanks

Have to retake my test
I have been studying for my CWI test for about 6 months and I study for about 3 to 4 hours a day. I use another on line school to study for the test and I didn’t past it I did get a CAWI but not what I wanted. When I took the test there was a question on the test that I never seen before so I a hard time with it. The on line school had a lot of questions and a practice test I passed them but not on the test. How are your program working for me.

So here is a question for discussion: What is the best way to prepare for the CWI exam? Many courses and videos are available. What method works?
Someone can study for this for months and if the information is not being used on the test it's not going to help. What's effective?
I recently got done with AWS 8 week seminar. You definitely need the WIT book and The Code Clinic Book. If you can get your hands on those 2 you'd be on to a good start. I purchased The Arc Of War from the gentleman that runs this site and I highly recommend that for Part B study material.
I take my Part B next week and then A and C the next 2 weeks after. So I can't say whether or not the classes and books worked lol! But I definitely feel ready and more knowledgeable about welding than I ever have been.
If you're spending your own money just purchase a Part B class. The A and C are on you and how much you study.
If your work is buying, then might as well get an entire course.
I did AWS and I'd give it 5 out of 10. We glazed over general knowledge like a freshly jizzed donut and the code book portion was not even 2 classes worth. The part B was the most insightful and most important in my opinion so that's why AWS gets a 5 and not a 1.
Either way I have learned that going on YouTube, purchasing practice exams, and reading as much as I could has taught me a lot of different things.
Hope this helps
Good afternoon, could you explain how you got the answer C for question 47 on Part 2 questions? This is from the Part A fundamental questions. Thank you in advance.
